Why Am I Starting a QA Blog in 2025?

Navigating Change

Hello and welcome to my very first blog post!

You might be wondering: why start a blog in 2025, especially about Quality Assurance? The answer is personal—and timely.

In November 2024, I was laid off from my job. It took me over five months to land a new full-time position. During that transitional and growth period, I kept telling my wife just how tough the job market had become. It felt like, to stand out and secure a role, you practically had to be a content creator—not just a skilled professional.

The landscape has changed: sharing your knowledge, building your brand, and connecting with others online is more important than ever.

So here I am, ready to dip my feet into the world of content creation. I won’t be doing this alone—my friend Jamal Chishti, a fellow QA engineer who was also recently affected by layoffs, will be joining me on this journey.

Our Career Journey

Jamal and I have been friends for almost 15 years now, and our professional journeys have often intersected. We started out as junior engineers, eager to learn the ropes and make our mark in the tech world. Over the years, we’ve worked at different companies—sometimes together, sometimes apart—but we’ve always supported each other through the ups and downs of the industry.

In fact, Jamal is one of my closest friends and one of the primary reasons I switched from being a developer to pursuing a career in QA. (Maybe we’ll share the full story in a future post!) His passion for quality, curiosity, and relentless drive have always inspired me, and I’m excited to finally collaborate with him on this blog.
